YEAR 2

It’s good to see the familiar faces of all the students, teachers and parents once again. My time away was filled with incredible experiences and viewing of magnificent parts of Canada and Alaska. Cruising, rail journeys and staying in unique locations all just added to having the ultimate holiday. Thank you for your genuine interest and support of my recent voyage.

The students are “hitting their straps” now, meaning, they are all working very well. This time of the year, you can observe that they are better able to complete their academic tasks as they have a lot more skills across all curriculum areas. They are moving smoothly through their reading levels for grade two and are able to accurately understand mathematical concepts like word problems, division and multiplication operations and number sentences.

Also to note, is that the students know they are making progress and they willingly help others if needed, so everyone is positively cooperating and working alongside each other. Best of all, they are all happy.

We had two visitors in our classroom this week and both had only praise for the children. One spoke how she always felt very welcomed in this class because that is how the students receive her. She commented, “I like coming into the Grade Two classroom.”

The second visitor was amazed with their manners and cooperative attitudes.

So parents, you should be very proud of your child and yes, it is fabulous to be back.
